 THG WSS Services

Windows SharePoint Services is a collection of services for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 that can be used to create team-oriented Web sites to share information and foster collaboration with other users on documents.

Microsoft Certified Partner The Henson Group, Inc. (THG) specializes in designing and deploying custom solutions using Windows SharePoint Services that enable teams to create Web sites for information sharing and document collaboration, benefits that help increase individual and team productivity.

As Windows SharePoint Services is a component of the Windows Server 2003 information worker infrastructure, THG’s solutions integrate directly to the Microsoft Office System and other desktop applications. And, it also serves as a platform for application development.

THG offers the following Windows SharePoint Services expertise:

Planning & Design: Following extensive exploratory sessions, THG’s expert SharePoint consultants design solutions that facilitate optimum collaboration and make it easy for users to work together on documents, tasks, contacts, events, and other information. In addition, THG provides advice on leveraging SharePoint features that allow team and site managers can coordinate site content and user activity easily.

Deployment Services: THG designs and deploys custom Windows SharePoint Services that can scale to thousands of sites within an organization. These solutions fully supports load-balanced Web farm and clustered database deployments.

Administration Services: For site and server managers, THG will help clients set quotas not only on storage, but on sites per-server and users per-site. Site usage can be monitored to detect and retire inactive sites. Detailed security options are available and easily managed. Server managers can delegate to end users the ability to create their own sites. Sites and servers can be managed from a Web browser, command-line tools, or a Web service-accessible object model.

Web Parts Configuration Services: SharePoint sites are made up of Web Parts and Windows ASP.NET-based components. Therefore, THG shows clients how to add Web Parts to pages and configure them by site administrators and users, creating complete page-based applications.

Microsoft Office Customization: THG configures SharePoint solutions so that all of a site's collaborative content—for example, documents, lists, events, task assignments, and membership rosters—can be read and edited within Microsoft Office Word 2003, Microsoft Office Excel 2003, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003.

Management Training: THG’s expert trainers instruct site managers on how to customize the content and layout of sites to ensure that site members can access and work with important and relevant information. Members' participation can also be monitored and moderated when necessary. Security and task responsibilities are both flexible and easily accessible. Well-designed lists and entire sites can be saved as templates and reused by individuals, teams, or business units across an organization.

Integrated Windows .NET Development: In addition to the Web Part infrastructure, Windows SharePoint Services servers, sites, and site contents are exposed by a comprehensive Windows .NET–based object model and industry-standard Web services. This allows THG’s expert .NET developers to provide a high level of site customization.

Security Review: THG’s security experts will provide the client with advice and expertise, based on the very latest information available, to identify and address any existing security issues associated with the project.
